STS Line Maintenance is hiring A&P Mechanics in Newark, New Jersey, to support aircraft line maintenance operations at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

This opportunity is designed for experienced Aircraft Maintenance Professionals with a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification, Airbus A320 experience and at least two years of aircraft maintenance experience.

A&P Mechanics will support commercial and large regional aircraft while working closely with airline customers, flight crews and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers to keep aircraft safe, compliant and operational.

Position Overview

The A&P Mechanic supports the daily maintenance needs of STS Line Maintenance customers at EWR.

This position performs inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and component replacements on transport-category aircraft while ensuring all work complies with applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company procedures and approved technical documentation.

Schedule

Candidates must be available to work:

  • Three to four days per week
  • 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Weekends and holidays as operational needs require

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Line Maintenance Station Manager and Station Leads
  • Work closely with airline customers, flight crews and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers
  • Maintain aircraft in accordance with applicable airworthiness standards and regulations
  • Follow airworthiness directives, company policies and established maintenance practices
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust and repair transport-category aircraft
  • Perform maintenance on aircraft airframes and engines
  • Use hand tools and test equipment to diagnose aircraft discrepancies
  • Adjust, repair or replace defective components based on inspection and test results
  • Follow aircraft maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks and technical documentation
  • Use precision instruments to measure components for wear
  • Determine repair or replacement requirements
  • Maintain high standards for quality, safety and integrity

Aircraft Experience

Work may be performed on commercial and large regional aircraft, including:

  • Airbus A320
  • Airbus A330
  • Boeing 737
  • Embraer 170
  • Embraer 190

Qualifications

  • Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification
  • No history of FAA certification infractions
  • At least two years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • Airbus A320 experience and training required
  • Must meet Tier 2 qualifications at minimum
  • Previous line maintenance experience on commercial or large regional aircraft strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot aircraft airframe and engine systems
  • Experience working with electrical, mechanical and hydraulic aircraft systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Basic to mid-level computer skills

Rate of Pay

Starting pay ranges from $36 to $42 per hour based on experience and applicable tier qualifications.

Ideal Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

  • Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no history of infractions
  • Recent A&P experience on turbine powered aircraft preferred
  • Previous experience working on Commercial and Large Regional aircraft desired but not required
  • Willingness to train candidates with a valid A&P license and strong desire to learn
  • Own set of standard line maintenance tools with calibrated and specialty tooling provided

Position Summary:

General Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA):

Position Overview

The Aircraft Component Mechanic / Certifier will perform maintenance, repair, overhaul and inspection activities on aircraft components within a workshop environment.

Job Summary

Educational Background and Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED; Associates Degree or higher Preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Screen, interview, test, qualify and hire applicants using the Company’s computer database in documenting all recruiting efforts and comments.
  • Review resumes and make outbound calls from various sources, such as from query reports based on skills, geographical areas, and last contact dates.
  • Exercise ability to recognize possible leads such as layoffs, advertisements, internet, and follow up on the leads.
  • Proper processing of daily duties as tasked by the Director of Recruiting & Program Delivery.
  • Follow up with employees that complete or terminate assignments and route to another assignment when possible.
  • Obtain referrals from candidates and follow up with referrals.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the Company and the Company’s policies and procedures with regard to job site wages and benefits, and working conditions of assignment.
  • Have clear understanding of requirements pertaining to pre-employment screening, background checks, drug screening, and employment eligibility verification.
  • Maintain rapport with candidate after hire in order to provide effective customer service and place candidate for subsequent assignments.
  • Recruiter must be a team player, able to work with fellow recruiters and support staff.
  • Must reside within one-hour commute of an STS Technical Services office location, and must work from that office at least one day per week.

  • Align with clients or hiring managers by gathering requirements and refining search strategies via calls, email, and job documentation
  • Manage candidate flow by submitting applicants, coordinating interviews, and maintaining engagement using ATS platforms, scheduling tools, and communication channels
  • Oversee the hiring process by tracking progress across multiple roles with ATS, calendars, and workflow tools
  • Close candidates by presenting offers, negotiating terms, and securing acceptances using phone, email, and compensation/offer documentation
  • Track activity and performance by logging interactions and monitoring metrics through ATS reports, dashboards, and spreadsheets
  • Continuously source and network by building relationships and generating referrals through LinkedIn, industry groups, and professional networks.
