  • Perform non-destructive testing inspections on aircraft components using approved methods

Job Responsibilities:

  • This position reports directly to the Line Maintenance Station Manager and Station Leads. Candidate will work in close partnership with the field airlines, flight crew and other Aircraft Maintenance Controllers.
  • The candidate will ensure aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies and best practices.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust and repair different transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity.
  • Adjust, repair or replace defective components based on analysis of test results while following maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks and other technical documentation.
  • Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear and repair or replace as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certifications (A&P) with no history of infractions.
  • Recent A&P experience on turbine powered aircraft considered a plus.
  • Previous experience on the 737,767, A320, ERJ 145/170/190, CRJ 700/900 is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Own set of standard line maintenance tools (calibrated & specialty tooling will be provided).
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude while being able to perform your job with minimal supervision.
  • With or without accommodations, employees must be able to work standing, climb ladders and stairs and must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

STS Engine Services is hiring a Senior Stores Operative to support its Components Warehouse in Stansted, Essex, United Kingdom. This is a hands-on role within a Part 145 aircraft engine MRO environment, with added responsibility for oversight, coordination, and supporting the Stores Manager.

Position Overview

The Senior Stores Operative supports the day-to-day operation of the Stores department while taking on additional responsibility for reporting, coordination, and deputising for the Stores Manager when required.

This role requires a proactive approach, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of Stores operations
  • Pick and issue aircraft parts and consumables to support maintenance activities
  • Ensure correct material handling and storage conditions in line with regulatory standards and company procedures
  • Monitor and control shelf-life expiry of materials
  • Perform periodic stock checks and support inventory accuracy
  • Manage acceptance and offloading of deliveries
  • Conduct physical inspection of parts and validate accompanying documentation
  • Receive parts into inventory and maintain accurate records
  • Support customs clearance processes including import and export requirements
  • Control and review MSS reports
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Apply Human Factors awareness in all activities
  • Represent Stores in meetings when required
  • Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency within the department
  • Control and dispose of waste products in line with company and environmental requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Deputise for the Stores Manager when required

Skills and Experience

  • Computer literate with the ability to use warehouse and inventory systems
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Full clean UK driving licence required
  • Previous experience working in a busy aviation stores department required
  • Experience with customs, import, and export processes desirable
  • Experience with goods-in inspection and documentation validation in an aviation environment desirable
  • Forklift licence desirable, training can be provided if required
