STS Aviation Services is seeking qualified Lead Aircraft Structure technicians, to join our overhaul and repair station in Melbourne, FL. These are direct full time positions, and are predominately working on the Airbus A320 and CRJ Aircraft.

Qualifications:

  • 4 years minimum experience working as an Aircraft Sheet Metal technician, maintaining and repairing Commercial and/or large regional aircraft.  Comparable military experience is acceptable.
  • 2 years minimum experience, working as a Lead Aircraft Structures Technician or Supervisor
  • Valid A&P license is required
  • Must be willing and able to work whatever shift and schedule is required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain an airport license

Position Overview

The A&P Mechanic supports the daily maintenance needs of airline customers at our Boise line maintenance station.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust and repair transport-category aircraft airframes and engines

  • Pick up customer personnel and transport them to their aircraft

STS Line Maintenance is hiring a Maintenance Utility Employee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to support seasonal aircraft maintenance operations during a winter charter program.

This is a part-time, on-call opportunity designed for a dependable candidate who lives near the airport, has a flexible schedule and can respond quickly when called. An FAA A&P license is not required.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Utility Employee supports customer personnel and STS Line Maintenance technicians within the secured airport environment.

Primary responsibilities include escorting customer personnel to and from aircraft, remaining with them while maintenance work is performed, assisting STS technicians with maintenance-related tasks and retrieving aircraft parts or equipment when requested.

This position operates in a 24/7/365 airport environment and requires availability for nights, weekends and holidays. When called into work, employees will receive a minimum of four hours of pay for services rendered.

Responsibilities

  • Escort customer personnel within secured areas of the airport
  • Pick up and transport customer personnel to and from assigned aircraft
  • Remain with customer personnel while they are working within secured airport areas
  • Support customer needs during aircraft maintenance visits
  • Operate a company vehicle when performing escort duties
  • Assist STS aircraft maintenance technicians with maintenance-related tasks
  • Retrieve and deliver aircraft parts and equipment when requested
  • Support winter charter operations involving Boeing 737-800 aircraft
  • Follow all airport, company and safety requirements

Qualifications

  • GED required
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record with no MVR issues within the past three years
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to obtain an airport SIDA badge with driving privileges
  • Ability to obtain a Customs seal
  • Reliable personal transportation to and from work
  • Strong communication skills
  • Safety-conscious approach to work
  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • Ability to respond with a sense of urgency when called
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work an on-call schedule

Position Summary:

Performs trouble-shooting, operational testing, modification, and repair of aircraft ground support equipment and basic building maintenance systems in accordance with policies, procedures, requirements, and specifications established by the company, applicable government agencies, and equipment manufactures as contained in approved Maintenance Manuals.

General Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA):

  • Two (2) years’ experience in equipment maintenance, preferably with an airline and/or MRO company.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Must be efficient in the use and application of tools, gauges, instruments, etc. necessary for the accomplishment of duties assigned.
  • Must have an understanding and working knowledge of hazardous material handling and disposal as related to the job assignment.
  • Must have minimum basic hand tools.
  • Must meet the qualifications to obtain an Airport/SIDA badge.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Nature of Work:

  • Works according to written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Performs all work assigned in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
  • Records work performed and assumes responsibility for that work as indicated by his/her signature.
  • Uses blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and Maintenance Manuals in performance of assigned duties.
  • Performs basic repairs and tasks associated with general building maintenance.
  • Must maintain valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Must have working knowledge and the ability to service troubleshoot, repair, modify, preserve and maintain ground support equipment.
  • Must perform preventive maintenance on equipment having internal combustion engines, hydraulics, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors necessary for the normal day-to-day operation, not determined at time of hire.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and other heights.
  • Must be able to work with one or both hands extended overhead.
  • Must have correctable near and far vision.
  • Must be able to hear at conversational level with hearing aid.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle and maintain control of small parts and properly operate hand tools.

  • Clock into Kronos prior to shift start.
  • Report to assigned Supervisor/Lead at beginning of shift.
  • Receive assigned task and clock into time tracking system.
  • Obtain all manual references, tooling, consumables, etc. required to perform assigned task.
  • Perform assigned task in a timely manner.
  • Document completion of work in maintenance management system
  • Report to assigned supervisor/Lead for next assigned task.
  • Adhere to break and lunchtimes as designated by the company rules.
  • Cell phones not allowed for personal business during assigned shift.
  • Drinks not allowed in assigned work area and/or on top of toolbox, tables, etc.
  • Return all shop tooling prior to end of shift and leave areas clean.
  • Clock out of time tracking system and Kronos at end of shift.
