Position Overview

The Aircraft Fuel Cell Technician (Class C) is an entry level aviation maintenance position designed for candidates with less than two years of aircraft maintenance experience.

This role reports directly to the Facility Supervisor or Facility Manager of the repair station and is responsible for performing fuel tank maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance, and alteration activities as assigned in accordance with approved maintenance data.

Class C Technicians are not assigned supervisory, management, or inspection duties and are not authorized to sign maintenance releases for return to service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned fuel system maintenance tasks in accordance with applicable aircraft maintenance manuals
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and alteration tasks as directed by facility leadership
  • Ensure maintenance operations follow proper sequence and inspection requirements
  • Request required inspections in a timely and organized manner
  • Ensure all maintenance activities follow approved maintenance data and customer requirements
  • Verify that test equipment and tools used for airworthiness determinations are properly labeled and current
  • Request stock and materials required to complete assigned work
  • Accurately document all maintenance activities on required maintenance records
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
  • Remain familiar with applicable FAA regulations including FAR Part 145 and FAR Part 43
  • Maintain awareness of company Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual procedures

Key Responsibilities

Job Summary

STS Aviation Services continues to expand its base maintenance operations, and we are looking for experienced UK CAA B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineers to join our growing team at Manchester Airport (MAN). This is a permanent, full time opportunity to work within one of the most advanced aircraft maintenance facilities in the United Kingdom.

Position Overview

The B1 Licensed Engineer will perform and certify aircraft maintenance activities within the scope of company approvals while supporting base maintenance operations at our Manchester facility. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and maintenance quality.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of customer aircraft including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks
  • Certify maintenance within the scope of company approvals and regulatory requirements
  • Provide leadership and supervision to aircraft mechanics and support staff
  • Lead by example to maintain high standards of aircraft maintenance execution
  • Ensure aircraft maintenance activities are completed efficiently and to customer satisfaction
  • Support strong technical dispatch reliability and on time aircraft performance

Required Aircraft Type Ratings

We are recruiting engineers with current UK CAA type ratings on the following aircraft:

  • Boeing 737 NG
  • Boeing 737 MAX
  • Airbus A319
  • Airbus A320
  • Airbus A321

Skills & Experience

  • UK CAA Part 66 B1 License required
  • Current CAA type certification on Boeing 737 NG, Boeing 737 MAX, or Airbus A320 family aircraft
  • Previous base maintenance experience required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic aviation maintenance environment
  • Flexibility to meet changing operational and maintenance requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence required

  • Carry out modifications and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and maintenance data, taking full accountability for the technical integrity of all work performed

  • Install complex structural assemblies
  • Work to fine tolerances and consistently high standards
