Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, PDM, and ERP system experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in sheet-metal and weldment design.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and set clear priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving technical and production challenges.

STS Technical Services is seeking a Production Planning Assistant to support documentation control and production coordination for a growing manufacturing operation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This role is about flow. Not theory. Not meetings. Flow.

If documentation is wrong, production slows. If it is late, production stops. Your job is to make sure neither happens.

You will manage production packets, process engineering changes, and keep multiple facilities aligned with accurate, current information.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and compile production paperwork packets for multiple departments
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with department requirements
  • Distribute production packets across multiple facilities and coordinate delivery
  • Review and process Engineering Change Notices, ensuring updates are applied correctly
  • Replace drawings and documents in active production packets based on ECNs
  • Prioritize workload based on production schedules and deadlines
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all locations have the documentation needed to maintain production flow
  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Experience in an administrative or manufacturing support role required
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings or willingness to learn quickly
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Service-oriented approach to supporting internal production teams

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with Engineering Change Notices
  • Experience managing production documentation and engineering drawings
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Proficiency with Excel Adobe SharePoint or Smartsheet
