Aircraft Upholstery Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Upholstery Technicians in East Alton, Illinois.
Job Overview:
This hourly, non-exempt full-time position requires a thorough understanding of aircraft interiors in addition to an advanced knowledge of upholstered items found in aircraft interiors. Modifications, repair, refurbishment and reinstallation of interior components are primary functions. Ability to evaluate and adjust on modifications essential. Job duties will vary each day and are designated by the Upholstery Team Leader. May be required to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Able to perform major modifications to seats and related items as required.
- Must possess a working familiarity with different seat styles typical to aircraft.
- Work independently on projects when required.
- Work independently when required.
- Perform complete upholstery refurbishment of aircraft seats from start to finish. Such duties include inspection, disassembly and assembly, prep work, foam work, patterning, sewing and installation of dress covers.
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required.
- Cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
- Assist with training to ensure job knowledge and performance of lesser-experienced employees.
- Must be able to diagnose seat problems in and out of the aircraft and perform necessary corrective actions.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of FAA flammability requirements for all materials used.
- Must be able to complete all required paperwork per work order book.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years experience on aircraft upholstery.
- Knowledge of materials and foams used in aviation.
- Knowledge of repairs and techniques used on various seat styles.
- 1 – 2 years heavy modifications preferred.

- Able to process work with minimal supervision.
- Written and verbal communication skills.

Aircraft Mechanic

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Mechanics in East Alton, Illinois to perform high-level inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and system adjustments on corporate aircraft. This is a hands-on position for experienced A&P licensed professionals who take pride in precision maintenance and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general to complex maintenance tasks on aircraft and related systems
- Install, remove, and repair components, panels, and sheet metal structures
- Disassemble and inspect engines, parts, and systems for non-conformities
- Rebuild or replace aircraft structures, including wings, fuselage, and hydraulic systems
- Assemble electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and structural accessories
- Conduct system servicing including crankcase flushing, brake checks, and greasing
- Test engine and system operations using specialized equipment and sound detection

- Align, calibrate, and adjust systems with hand tools and gauges

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Aviation Technology preferred
- FAA A&P License required
- Minimum of 1 year of current experience in corporate or military aircraft maintenance
- Proficiency in basic computer applications
- Familiarity with aviation software platforms (Corridor preferred)
- Valid driver’s license required; passport preferred
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with FAA-mandated drug and alcohol program
- Strong attention to quality, safety, and detail
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working in fast-paced settings
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts based on aircraft schedules
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Routine walking, standing, bending, squatting, sitting, and stooping
- Repetitive arm and hand movements required for manual tasks
- Work in hangar environments with wide temperature variation

Aircraft Mechanic

STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Aircraft Mechanics in Moline, Illinois. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, repairing, and maintaining airframe and engine systems to keep aircraft safe and airworthy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, servicing, and repairs of a complex nature on various aircraft systems and components
- Troubleshoot and function test using manufacturer’s technical documents across multiple airframe, engine, and component systems
- Lead aircraft projects as directed by the Crew Chief and Supervisor
- Prepare and complete required maintenance and modification documentation in accordance with FAA Airworthiness Regulations, Elliott Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, and OJT logs
- Locate and use appropriate technical data to accomplish tasks efficiently and correctly
- Support, maintain, and comply with all Federal, OSHA, State, and local regulations as well as Elliott Aviation’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Processes
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to attain and retain AOA badge or Airport requirements
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
- Must obtain and retain designation as an Elliott Aviation Production Inspector (Blue stamp)

STS Technical Services is actively hiring experienced Aircraft Painters to join our client’s team in Moline, Illinois. This is a great opportunity to work on corporate aircraft and contribute to high-quality paint work from start to finish.
Position Overview:
We are looking for 4–6 skilled Aircraft Painters who take pride in their craft and are ready to jump into a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Candidates must be experienced in painting corporate aircraft and capable of performing the full paint process, including prep, masking, base coat, final coat, and finishing.
Job Duties:
- Perform all phases of the aircraft paint process from surface preparation to final finish
- Work with primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes as required
- Ensure proper masking, taping, and sanding techniques are followed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
- Execute layout tasks for striping and complex designs (if applicable)
Qualifications:
- Previous experience painting corporate aircraft is required
- Must be comfortable with full-cycle paint work from prep to final application
- Experience with layout and striping is highly desirable
- Ability to read and follow technical documents, drawings, and specifications
- Willingness to work in a collaborative team setting with high attention to detail
- Layout experience (e.g., striping, complex designs) is highly desirable and will be considered favorably.

Lead Technician (Structures)

STS Aviation Services is hiring Lead Aircraft Structures Technicians in Melbourne, Florida.
The View From 10,000 Feet:
STS Aviation Services is seeking qualified Lead Aircraft Structure technicians, to join our overhaul and repair station in Melbourne, FL. These are direct full time positions, and are predominately working on the Airbus A320 and CRJ Aircraft.
Qualifications:
- 4 years minimum experience working as an Aircraft Sheet Metal technician, maintaining and repairing Commercial and/or large regional aircraft. Comparable military experience is acceptable.
- 2 years minimum experience, working as a Lead Aircraft Structures Technician or Supervisor
- Valid A&P license is required
- Must be willing and able to work whatever shift and schedule is required.
- Must have the ability to obtain an airport license
Additional Considerations:
- Must hold a valid Driver License.
- Must not be under a doctor’s care with limited work restrictions.
- Must be able to pass a back ground check and obtain all necessary badging.
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs and work stands unassisted.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently in confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels.

Avionics Technician

Shift Hours:

STS Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Technician to join our team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. As an Avionics Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft by troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and performing maintenance on various aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with corporate jet aircraft, commercial aircraft, or military aircraft maintenance, including Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections.
Key Responsibilities:

Job Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in avionics or substantiated equivalent experience.
- Corporate jet or commercial aircraft experience preferred.
- Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) is a plus.
Certifications & Licenses:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License preferred.
- GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification is preferred.
- Certification from an Avionics or Aircraft Electronics Technician school or equivalent military training is preferred.
Tools & Equipment:
- Must possess a complete set of tools for avionics maintenance in a lockable toolbox. Tools must be etched with the contractor’s first and last name for identification purposes.
Communication Skills:
- Must be able to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions verbally and in writing in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be comfortable with 12-hour shift work that includes days, nights, and weekends.
