STS Technical Services is hiring an Airline Tooling Specialist in Denver, Colorado, to support aircraft maintenance tooling operations at Denver International Airport.

This is a 3- to 4-month contract assignment working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position may offer an opportunity for direct employment based on performance, business needs and client requirements.

Position Overview

The Airline Tooling Specialist supports aircraft maintenance operations by maintaining, organizing, issuing, receiving, inspecting and tracking tools and equipment.

This position plays an important role in tool accountability, inventory accuracy and calibration tracking while ensuring maintenance personnel have access to the equipment required to support safe and efficient aircraft maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

Issue aircraft maintenance tools and equipment to maintenance personnel
Receive returned tools and equipment
Maintain accurate tooling and inventory records
Inspect returned tools for condition, damage, cleanliness and completeness
Identify missing, damaged or unserviceable tools
Initiate required reporting and replacement processes
Maintain organization and accountability within tool rooms and designated storage areas
Verify tool identification and serial numbers
Confirm inventory records are accurate
Support aircraft maintenance tool control procedures
Assist with calibration tracking
Verify calibrated tools are properly identified and available for use
Monitor calibration due dates
Coordinate removal and replacement of tools requiring calibration
Assist maintenance personnel with locating required tools and equipment
Perform periodic inventory counts
Reconcile tooling and inventory discrepancies
Maintain documentation for tool issuance and returns
Maintain calibration records
Document damaged or missing equipment
Support periodic and wall-to-wall inventory audits
Follow airline, FAA, OSHA and company safety procedures
Follow established tool-control procedures
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
Work closely with aircraft maintenance personnel, supervisors and support departments
Perform additional tooling and inventory duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to accurately track and maintain inventory records
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
Basic computer skills
Ability to learn inventory and tool-tracking software
Ability to read and understand tool identification and serial numbers
Ability to interpret equipment documentation
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced airline maintenance environment
Dependable and punctual
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in aircraft maintenance, airline, MRO, tool room, warehouse or inventory operations
Familiarity with aircraft maintenance tools and equipment
Previous experience supporting Part 121 airline maintenance operations
Aircraft tool room or tooling experience
Experience with aircraft maintenance tooling and calibration programs
Experience conducting physical inventory counts
Experience supporting wall-to-wall inventory audits
Familiarity with FAA maintenance and tool-control requirements
Experience using airline or MRO inventory management systems

Security Requirements

Must successfully pass a criminal background check
Must meet all requirements necessary to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge
Must maintain eligibility for airport and airline security access throughout the assignment

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to frequently bend, reach and stoop
Ability to move throughout the work area
Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment as required
Ability to work safely around aircraft, ground support equipment and maintenance activities

Work Environment

This position is based at an airline maintenance operation at Denver International Airport.

Work may be performed in a tool room, warehouse, maintenance facility or other operational areas supporting aircraft maintenance. The role requires accuracy, accountability and timely support in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

What We Need:

Must have a minimum of five years’ line maintenance experience
Must have a minimum of three years’ management experience
Must have A&P License
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language
Must be self-motivated
As a working station manager you will be required to have good time management skills
Must have excellent communication and people skills
Must be able to exercise good judgment in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
Must have problem solving and organizational skills
Must have experience with Microsoft office Excel, Word, Power Point, and preferably KRONOS time keeping system
Must be able to read and understand Company and Manufacturer Manuals, GMM’s and AMM’s.
Must be able to qualify on the various aircraft worked at the station through GENFAM completions and air carrier training.
Must be able to perform all line maintenance functions un-supervise
Must own and provide a minimum set of hand tools
Must be willing to work shift work and will rotate between nights and days
Must be able to input and approve aircraft work orders in computer system IAW all applicable policies
Must be able to create work schedules for employees to cover station air carrier requirements without building OT into the schedule
Must be able to complete quality/safety/maintenance related documents for STS and air carriers as required
Must be able to train and assist technicians as required with all aspects of their position Must have a clean MVR
Must hold a valid Driver License
Must not be under a doctor’s care with limited work restrictions
Must be able to pass a back ground check and obtain all necessary badging
Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs and work stands unassisted
Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently in confined spaces
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels

Rate of Pay:

Rate of pay is determined by previous experience, and will range between $105-$115K Annually. Yearly raises are available upon evaluation.

Position Summary

Perform structural repairs and fabrication of parts with the ability to follow SRM instructions and/or engineering dispositions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Follow approved repair and modification procedures for components or aircraft, consulting FAA-approved procedures, OEM technical data, and work package instructions
Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures using measuring instruments, blueprint lines, and index points
Inspect completed work to identify any needed rework before sign off; ensure all repairs meet prescribed standards and tolerances
Perform serviceability tests on repairs using test equipment outlined in technical manuals
Complete work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations
Submit completed work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and re-certification of airworthiness
Fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies using bolts, screws, or rivets
Cut, trim, and file parts; verify fitting tolerances before installation
Drill holes in structures and subassemblies; attach brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation
Inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment for compliance with performance and safety standards
Install units, parts, and components in structural assembly using hand and power tools
Locate and mark reference points for installation of parts using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments
Provide information and documentation for engineering requests
Comply with repair station procedures (RSM/QCM) and company policies (SOP) during all maintenance work

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma / GED
A&P and/or structures experience preferred
Repairman’s certificate may substitute for A&P

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred
Proven aircraft structures repair experience with the ability to use technical data and aircraft drawings to accomplish repairs

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to fabricate parts and read work orders, blueprints, and specifications
Proficiency in the usage of air-powered hand tools and related equipment
Knowledge of machines, tools, raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods
Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as required
Strong understanding of FAA maintenance procedures and compliance requirements

Working Conditions / Special Requirements

Must adhere to OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations at all times

This is an entry-level aviation maintenance position designed for candidates with zero to two years of aircraft fuel system maintenance experience. The Aircraft Fuel Cell Technician performs fuel tank maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration tasks within a Part 145 Repair Station environment while receiving hands-on training and building technical experience.

Position Overview

The Aircraft Fuel Cell Technician (Class C) reports to the Facility Supervisor and/or Facility Manager and performs assigned aircraft fuel tank maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance data, customer requirements and Repair Station procedures.

This position does not include management, supervisory or inspection responsibilities and is not authorized to approve maintained or altered articles for return to service. Certification under 14 CFR Part 65 is not required for this position.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned aircraft fuel tank maintenance tasks
Complete preventive maintenance and alteration work as directed
Follow applicable aircraft maintenance manuals and approved maintenance data
Ensure completed and partially completed maintenance activities are properly signed off
Perform maintenance activities in the appropriate sequence
Request required inspections in an orderly and timely manner
Follow applicable customer requirements
Verify that tools and test equipment used for airworthiness determinations are properly labeled and current
Request stock and materials required to complete assigned work
Accurately document completed maintenance activities
Complete required maintenance records and supporting paperwork
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Follow applicable FAR Part 145 and Part 43 requirements
Maintain familiarity with the company Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual
Remain current on applicable revisions to company maintenance documentation
Record on-the-job training for assigned tasks
Immediately report procedures, practices or conditions that could lead to injury, inefficiency or unairworthy conditions
Follow all established safety and maintenance procedures

Qualifications

Zero to two years of aviation fuel maintenance experience
Ability to understand and perform aircraft fuel system maintenance with training
Basic mechanical knowledge, experience or training
Mechanical experience preferred
Ability to follow maintenance manuals and technical instructions
Ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately
Ability to work safely within a regulated aircraft maintenance environment
Willingness to learn aircraft fuel tank maintenance procedures

Work Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to work in small areas
Ability to perform maintenance activities in confined spaces
