Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certifications  (A&P) with no history of infractions.
  • Recent A&P experience on turbine powered aircraft considered a plus.
  • Previous experience on the A320 family, 737, Embraer 170/190, CRJ 200/700/900 is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Own set of standard line maintenance tools (calibrated & specialty tooling will be provided).
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude while being able to perform your job with minimal supervision.
  • With or without accommodations, employees must be able to work standing, climb ladders and stairs and must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to pass background check as well as drug & alcohol test. In addition, he / she must be able to obtain customs & border patrol clearance.

  • Experience working under a FAA approved Part 145 repair station or Part 135 experience is highly desired.

Rate of Pay:

  • Rate of pay is determined by previous experience and formal training.  Starting pay rates will range between $33-$42 DOE

Senior Helicopter Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Helicopter Technician to support rotary-wing aircraft maintenance operations in Stuart, Florida. This role is built for an experienced aviation maintenance professional who takes ownership of safety, compliance, and aircraft readiness while supporting mission-critical flight operations.

Position Overview

The Senior Helicopter Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on certificated rotary-wing aircraft. This role requires strict adherence to FAA regulations, manufacturer procedures, and internal standards while supporting flight operations, maintenance documentation, inventory control, and ongoing aircraft readiness.

This position works closely with flight crews and leadership to ensure aircraft safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on certificated rotary-wing aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, and manufacturer procedures
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose aircraft systems and components to resolve discrepancies efficiently and accurately
  • Conduct daily aircraft inspections to support safe flight operations
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant maintenance records, logbooks, and aircraft historical documentation
  • Ensure full compliance with all FAA maintenance, inspection, and safety requirements
  • Maintain records for all contracted maintenance performed by external vendors
  • Establish and manage an organized aircraft parts inventory, including in-stock and military surplus components
  • Coordinate with the Pilot in Command or Chief Pilot to support maintenance test flights and troubleshooting activities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of aircraft, hangar facilities, tools, consumables, and work areas
  • Stay current on aircraft technology advancements and participate in required or recommended training
  • Assist with maintenance-related budget forecasting and planning as needed
  • Perform additional duties as directed by leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Field experience performing maintenance on rotary-wing aircraft
  • Strong knowledge of FAA inspection programs, regulations, and documentation requirements
  • Experience working with FAA forms and airworthiness directive historical record systems

Preferred Experience

  • Experience maintaining Airbus H-125 aircraft
  • Experience with Bell OH-58 and or Bell 206 series aircraft
  • Experience with SAFRAN Arriel 2D engines
  • Experience with Rolls-Royce 250 series engines
  • Experience supporting avionics systems and advanced mission equipment such as hoists and cargo hooks
