STS Line Maintenance is hiring Lead A&P Mechanics in Phoenix, Arizona. We are looking for highly motivated aircraft maintenance professionals to help grow our line maintenance station in Phoenix and take their professional experience to the next level.

The Lead A&P Mechanic supports the daily maintenance operations of our customers and helps ensure an outstanding experience by providing top-level service. This role is ideal for an experienced A&P Mechanic with commercial and large regional aircraft maintenance experience, line maintenance leadership experience, and the ability to support workforce coordination in a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment.

Position Summary

STS Line Maintenance is one of the largest line maintenance support providers in the United States. We provide quality, reliable aircraft line maintenance and servicing throughout an extensive rapid-response, nationwide network.

This position reports directly to the Station Manager and helps manage the workforce to ensure all required maintenance needs are met in support of customer requirements. The Lead A&P Mechanic works in close partnership with field airlines, flight crews, and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

  • Help manage the workforce to ensure all required maintenance needs are met in support of customer requirements
  • Work closely with field airlines, flight crews, and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers
  • Ensure aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and best practices
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment
  • Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results
  • Follow maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documentation
  • Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear and repair or replace as required
  • Work outdoors and in inclement weather as required
  • Perform work on B737NG/MAX, A320 family, E145, E170, and E175 aircraft
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must hold a current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License with no history of infractions
  • Recent A&P experience on turbine-powered aircraft considered a plus
  • Must own a set of standard line maintenance tools
  • Calibrated and specialty tooling will be provided
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience as a Lead Technician in a line maintenance environment working on commercial and/or large regional aircraft
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience working on commercial and large regional aircraft
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Able to perform with minimal supervision
  • With or without accommodations, must be able to work standing
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing
  • Must be able to obtain Customs and Border Patrol clearance
  • Must have basic to mid-level computer and organizational skills
  • Experience working under an FAA-approved Part 145 Repair Station or Part 135 experience is highly desired
  • Inspection Authorization License is a plus
  • Must be able to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair systems on aircraft airframes and engines with little supervision
  • Aircraft systems experience should include electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Versatility and flexibility are important, as the schedule could include days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Rate of Pay

Rate of pay is determined by previous experience. Yearly raises are available upon evaluation.

Job Description:

Examines, repairs, assembles, and tests aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, carburetors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices, and following shop orders and manufacturer’s specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components; performs complete operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls, etc.
  • Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme, quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies.
  • Repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary.
  • Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Consults the Maintenance Lead if technical assistance is needed during the repair process.
  • Inspects completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework; performs rework; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using test equipment specified by the original equipment manufacturer.
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping after finishing all designated operations.
  • Submits completed/in-progress work to Maintenance Lead for review; submits to Quality Assurance for final/in-progress inspection and re-certification of airworthiness.
  • Provides supervisor with performance statistics and other operational data, as requested.
  • Properly accounts for time and materials used in all inspection and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School/ GED
  • A&P

Experience:

  • Required: A & P License; minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience with small aircraft/ general aviation trained in one aircraft type; proficient and demonstrated skill with the aircraft.
  • Several years or actual and recent depot level aircraft maintenance and repair experience is required, (repair of mechanical systems, components, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, rigging etc.); proficiency with interpretation of original equipment manufacturer’s technical data or work package instructions; experience using power or pneumatic hand tools.

STS Technical Services is hiring experienced A&P Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics in Waterford, Michigan. In this role, you’ll work directly on business-class, transport-category aircraft and ensure they meet the highest standards of airworthiness and safety. Position Summary:

As an A&P Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll play a hands-on role in the day-to-day maintenance operations for a premier aviation services provider. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that values precision, safety, and technical excellence. We’re looking for detail-oriented professionals ready to make an immediate impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbine-powered aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, test, and repair aircraft airframes and engines
  • Interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and blueprints to diagnose and repair discrepancies
  • Use precision instruments to assess wear and execute component replacements as needed
  • Document all work performed using approved maintenance records and procedures
  • Collaborate with OEMs, pilots, inspectors, and fellow technicians to maintain aircraft compliance
  • Support flexible work shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License (required)
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of recent A&P experience; turbine-powered aircraft strongly preferred
  • Experience working in an FAA-certified Part 145 repair station (required)
  • Familiarity with Part 135 operations (preferred)
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) and/or FCC License are a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to work independently while ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-focused attitude and a commitment to service excellence
