Position Overview

The Weld Expeditor plays a critical role in coordinating, monitoring, and ensuring the timely flow of welded components through the fabrication process. This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure all projects stay on schedule without compromising safety or quality.

Responsibilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Monitor daily weld shop schedules and track progress of welded components to ensure timely completion
  • Act as the primary point of contact between welders, supervisors, and production management to resolve bottlenecks and prioritize workload
  • Verify the accuracy of work orders, drawings, and materials before components are released to welding
  • Coordinate with material handlers and inventory to ensure parts, fixtures, and consumables are available for welders
  • Expedite rework or priority jobs as required to meet customer deadlines
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work order status and communicate updates to leadership daily
  • Collaborate with fabrication, paint, and assembly departments to ensure smooth workflow throughout production

Requirements (What It Takes to Be Successful)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or welding coursework preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or welding environment
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, fabrication, and metalwork
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP system experience preferred)
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently while supporting team goals
  • Ability to walk, bend, and stand for long periods; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to drive legally between manufacturing locations (all in greater Milwaukee)

  • GMAW (MIG/MAG) welding experience preferred

Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor’s primary role is to supervise and direct manufacturing operations. This position utilizes staff and equipment to meet safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction goals.

Job Description:

Due to an upcoming retirement we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic Maintenance Team.

The primary role of the Maintenance Supervisor is to lead the repair and preventative maintenance of equipment used throughout the US Wacker facilities. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the maintenance processes and personnel in order to minimize equipment down time an improve operational equipment effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervisor Functions:

  • Support department initiatives and continuous improvement that align with our company strategy and key performance metrics
  • Responsible for problem solving day to day issues and escalating challenges to management in the areas of safety, quality, production, personnel and other resource availability (i.e. technology, financial, physical)
  • Responsible for gathering and delivering information in a timely manner while ensuring communication is understood by all direct reports
  • Provides constructive feedback to all subordinates and holds employees accountable. May provide feedback to manager for performance reviews
  • Leads by example and demonstrates the company’s core values of expertise, passion, agility and entrepreneurship
  • Treats all levels of the organization with respect, honesty, and integrity while supporting diversity, inclusion, compliance, and safety of all employees

Machine Maintenance:

  • Leads Maintenance Technicians in predictive & preventative maintenance and repair of various building and production systems
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day supervision of maintenance systems, processes and documentation associated with efficient and High Performing Manufacturing Organizations (Prevention and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOP’s, Safety, etc.)
  • Ensures maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and works closely with Production to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs
  • Provides long-term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to complete necessary work with minimal disruption to operations

General Maintenance:

  • Coordinate and work effectively with outside contractors as needed for maintenance work as well as capital project work
  • Initiate and manage capital projects, as well as coordinate and work effectively with Project Engineering on new capital projects

Reporting:

  • Develops and/or maintains Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function (supplier performance, 3rd party contractor performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.)

Safety:

  • Performs all job functions is a safe manner and maintains safety awareness
  • Uses appropriate channels Reports known accidents, injuries and unsafe practices and/or conditions.
  • Participate in safety team 

 

Required Skills:

Qualifications: Additional years of experience or education may be substituted for each other as determined by Human Resources.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant related work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of powder paint systems. Knowledge of power and free conveyor, automated wash system, parts blaster and powder booths a key plus
  • Knowledge of distribution machinery, automated conveyors, VLM’s and preventative maintenance methods and techniques and skills in identifying equipment malfunctions and safety hazards preferred
  • Basic knowledge of commercial or industrial plumbing and electrical systems structural heating and A/C and refrigeration systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and technical oversight to Structures Engineering staff.
  • Issue engineering instructions and documentation to support safe, timely aircraft return-to-service.
  • Develop compliance plans and solutions for FARs, ADs, NPRMs, and in-service issues.
  • Liaise with manufacturers, MRO facilities, regulatory authorities, and outside engineering groups.
  • Review the work of consultants, contractors, and MRO Structures Engineers.
  • Evaluate and respond to FAA directives, NPRMs, SBs, SLs, and other in-service notifications.
  • Develop approved or acceptable data and Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOCs).
  • Support the Corrosion Protection Control Program (CPCP) with corrective action plans.
  • Submit mandatory FAA reports as required.
  • Develop product improvement modifications and support reliability-driven initiatives.
  • Organize and deliver engineering documentation for repairs, alterations, and modifications within set timelines and budgets.
  • Provide 24/7 technical support in cooperation with other Engineering staff.
  • Support the Repair Assessment Program (RAP) and Widespread Fatigue Damage (WFD) initiatives.
  • Initiate and manage maintenance program changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aircraft Structural Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of ATA chapter subjects: 25, 27 (structural aspects), 51–57, 71 (structural aspects), and 78 (structural aspects).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to deadlines.
  • Ability to produce accurate, dependable, and consistent work.

STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer in Hebron, Kentucky. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and reliability of commercial aircraft by developing engineering data, documents, and technical instructions. You’ll also coordinate regulatory and non-regulatory projects while supporting corporate goals and objectives.

Position Summary

The Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer is responsible for engineering data, instructions, and technical support within ATA chapters 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 33, 35, 36, 38, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, and 57. This role also coordinates engineering activities across multiple projects while upholding company standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prioritize Systems Engineering actions for Aircraft Systems Engineers.
  • Guide and mentor the Aircraft Systems Engineers, providing technical support for large commercial fleets.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Liaison Engineering Support Team for AOG/24/7 operations.
  • Manage budgetary data for projects and issues as directed.
  • Oversee Heavy Maintenance & Conversion MRO repair documentation.
  • Issue instructions and documents to safely and economically return aircraft to service.
  • Participate in the Project Systems Team and FAR/AD/NPRM compliance.
  • Manage reviews, analyses, and responses to Fleet Team Idea Exchange (FIX) for commercial fleets.
  • Participate in industry working groups, steering committees, and conferences.
  • Review the work of consultant, contract, and MRO Systems Engineers.
  • Evaluate FARs, NPRMs, ADs, SBs, SLs, and other service notifications.
  • Develop approved and acceptable data, including AMOCs for repairs, modifications, and alterations.
  • Update technical source documents for accuracy.
  • Support integration of new and previously operated aircraft, including evaluation of repairs, ADs, STCs, and follow-on actions.
  • Liaise with manufacturers, MROs, regulatory agencies, and outside engineering departments.
  • Develop product improvement modifications based on reliability indicators.
  • Establish component repair and build specifications to enhance dispatch reliability.
  • Perform thorough analysis of fleet technical issues and reliability impact events.
  • Submit recommendations for continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and cost control.
  • Refine standard analysis methods to ensure consistent outcomes and responsible recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement of component reliability and fleet performance.
  • Stay current with regulatory guidance and industry best practices.
  • Organize and provide Systems Engineering documentation to complete modifications and repairs on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide technical support to Technical Operations, Ground Operations, and Flight Operations.
  • Review and initiate maintenance program changes and document updates.
  • Report status of projects and issues as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager Aircraft Systems Engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years in Aircraft Systems Engineering, including workforce management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems and component design.
  • Experience interfacing with manufacturers and regulatory agencies.
  • Proven success in delivering results within an airline environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage technical teams.
  • Strategic and innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Effective collaboration with peers and senior leaders.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (up to two levels of leadership).
