Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Borescope inspection experience is desirable.
  • Current Human Factors training, EWIS Level 1 & 2, and Fuel Tank Safety Level 1 & 2 preferred (training can be provided).

STS Technical Services is actively hiring Mechanics of all skill levels to join our team in LaPorte, Texas. This full-time opportunity supports a fleet of trucks built at our TICO facility in Ridgeland, South Carolina. With a consistent power package and driveline across 95% of the fleet, mechanics are able to quickly learn the systems and become efficient on the job. We offer paid training for the right candidates, a sign-on bonus, and plenty of overtime opportunities.

Position Overview

  • Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tasks on heavy-duty terminal tractors and related equipment
  • Conduct safety checks and inspect electrical, hydraulic, suspension, cooling, A/C, steering, DPF, brake, and air systems
  • Use computer-based diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment failures
  • Document all work using fleet maintenance software
  • Follow OSHA standards and company safety protocols to maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate repairs and assign tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in any of the following:
  • Heavy truck repair
  • Medium or heavy-duty equipment maintenance
  • Forklift or construction equipment service
  • Automotive repair and diagnostics
  • Completion of a diesel or automotive tech program preferred
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to grow in the field
  • Must supply your own tools (Company-sponsored tool program available)
