Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certifications  (A&P) with no history of infractions.
  • Recent A&P experience on turbine powered aircraft considered a plus.
  • Previous experience on the A320 family, 737, Embraer 170/190, CRJ 200/700/900 is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Own set of standard line maintenance tools (calibrated & specialty tooling will be provided).
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude while being able to perform your job with minimal supervision.
  • With or without accommodations, employees must be able to work standing, climb ladders and stairs and must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to pass background check as well as drug & alcohol test. In addition, he / she must be able to obtain customs & border patrol clearance.

Rate of Pay:

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of line maintenance activities within assigned stations or geographic areas. This role provides direct leadership to Maintenance Managers, coordinates resources across departments, and ensures aircraft are returned to service on schedule and in full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide managerial oversight of Maintenance Managers and assigned line maintenance stations
  • Analyze past, current, and future flight schedules to align manpower with operational demand
  • Coordinate personnel schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all line maintenance activities
  • Review maintenance delays and identify improvement opportunities to support on time performance
  • Ensure aircraft maintenance is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and oversee contract line maintenance personnel across assigned stations and regions
  • Ensure all personnel are trained, qualified, and current in accordance with company GMM policies
  • Monitor training records, qualifications, and proficiency levels for assigned maintenance teams
  • Coordinate line maintenance activities with MCC, Workload Planning, Materials, Quality Control, and Aircraft Planning departments
  • Maintain continuous oversight of line maintenance activity within assigned stations or regions
  • Coordinate technical support and resources during major mechanical events and AOG situations
  • Identify recurring maintenance issues and recommend procedural or process improvements
  • Oversee the timely completion of deferred maintenance items on transiting aircraft
  • Ensure proper shift turnover and work interruption procedures are followed
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance and AOG status updates are provided to MCC
  • Monitor maintenance history programs including AHM, Repeat Item, and Oil Watch programs
  • Develop corrective action plans in coordination with MCC for mechanical and deferred maintenance issues
  • Ensure accurate and timely logbook and parts change entries within the TRAX system
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are properly trained in TRAX usage
  • Monitor spare engine status and engine change kit readiness
  • Maintain close coordination with Ground Operations and Flight Operations teams
  • Enforce safety procedures in accordance with company manuals and industry standards
  • Conduct self audits of assigned stations or regions as required
  • Develop and manage station and regional maintenance budgets
  • Travel to field locations and support operations away from the home base as assigned
  • Fly on company aircraft when required to support global operations
  • Maintain required airport access badges for assigned stations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Ability to maintain Atlas Air qualification and Airworthiness Release authorization as required
  • 9 to 13 years of aircraft maintenance experience on the following aircraft types or equivalents
    • Boeing 747
    • Boeing 767
    • Boeing 777
    • Boeing 737NG
  • Prior managerial or supervisory experience in aircraft maintenance operations required
