Position Overview

Your Impact

STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Mechanic in Hiram, Georgia, to support equipment repair, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting within a hands-on manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for a mechanically skilled professional with experience working with hydraulic, electrical, gas and diesel systems. The Senior Mechanic will also support equipment diagnostics and repairs while helping Assemblers strengthen their troubleshooting and maintenance skills.

Position Overview

The Senior Mechanic performs equipment repairs, calibration and maintenance while supporting equipment diagnosis and troubleshooting activities.

This position requires basic knowledge of DC electricity and hydraulics, familiarity with diagnostic tools and the ability to follow written and verbal work instructions while maintaining established quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Complete equipment repairs and service requirements outlined in sales change orders
  • Install equipment accessories including decals, mud flaps, cameras and lights
  • Support equipment diagnosis and repair activities
  • Direct and assist Assemblers with troubleshooting and equipment maintenance
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Maintain attention to detail and adhere to established quality standards
  • Apply basic knowledge of DC electricity and hydraulic systems
  • Read and understand basic technical prints
  • Use multimeters, pressure testers, analyzers and related diagnostic tools
  • Use an iPad or laptop to document findings and enter required information
  • Learn to operate a forklift as required
  • Assist with inventory accuracy through data entry
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow established procedures, rules and safety requirements
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Work overtime and extended schedules as required
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience working with hydraulic, electrical, gas and diesel systems
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Strong math skills
  • Basic knowledge of DC electrical systems
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and understand basic technical prints
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to use an iPad or laptop for data entry
  • Basic understanding of multimeters, pressure testers and analyzers
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance
