Position Overview

The End of Line Automotive Technician is responsible for assembling, validating, and troubleshooting vehicle systems to ensure final product readiness. Essential Duties

  • Maintain awareness of risks associated with high voltage, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Perform first-time installation of detail parts onto vehicles
  • Reinstall all removed components
  • Conduct functional testing of all assembled systems
  • Apply strong mechanical aptitude to assembly and validation tasks
  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems using diagrams and technical documentation
  • Support efficient operations across multiple workstations
  • Position and fasten subassemblies including wiring, hoses, panels, doors, and underbody components
  • Use manipulators and tools according to standard work instructions
  • Complete functional testing and validation checks
  • Serve as a first line of defense for quality through ongoing inspections

Job Summary

Position Overview

As the Maintenance Group Leader, you are responsible for the operations, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment. You may oversee a medium-size group of employees in a skilled area of work. Work requires the ability to make decisions based on established procedures. The role is technical in nature and requires independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS), focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

An execution-focused leader of operational/hourly represented team members, supervising the team to ensure that tasks are completed satisfactorily.

Expertise

  • Understands and follows established processes in their area and knows how to use systems and technologies to accomplish work assignments. Typically has practical working experience in all processes within their area.
  • Provides instructions to direct reports on course of action and serves as a resource for them on standardized work, quality standards, and processes within the area, as well as relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Works under a moderate level of supervision. Collaborates effectively with more senior members of the team, seeking guidance and absorbing knowledge to address and solve issues.

Complexity

  • Carries out designated routine tasks, ensuring timely completion. Errors in decision-making or failure to achieve desired outcomes may result in schedule delays. Consistently meets unit targets as scheduled.
  • Offers direct supervision to a unit or team of employees. Addresses and resolves any issues faced by team members, proactively mitigates conflicts to prevent escalation, and assigns tasks while closely monitoring progress at regular intervals.
  • Proactively anticipates needs of the areas managed, by consistently training and rotating team members to ensure that there is no disruption in the execution of work.
  • Engages in daily interactions with subordinates and/or peers from other functional groups. These interactions typically involve the exchange or presentation of information.

  • Handles a range of moderate scope problems that are frequently routine but may vary, requiring analysis of various factors.
