Responsibilities

  • MIG weld I-beam frames and fuel tanks ranging from 10-gauge to ½ inch steel

  • Use clamps, hoists, cranes, and hand tools to secure and position workpieces
  • Tack-weld, grind, and bolt components into place
  • Read and interpret blueprints to complete projects accurately

Position Overview

As a 2nd Shift Painter, you will be responsible for operating, adjusting, and maintaining powder painting equipment to achieve proper paint coverage. You’ll also perform manual paint application, part prep, equipment maintenance, and quality inspections. Key Responsibilities

  • Adjust powder paint equipment for optimal performance (air flow, powder flow, KV settings)

Product Data Management (PDM)

  • Maintain accurate CAD models, drawings, and revision history

  • Release documentation through formal workflows
  • Maintain complete and accurate BOM structures

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

  • Ensure BOMs transferred to ERP are accurate and aligned with released drawings

  • Ensure engineering changes are properly reflected in ERP before production implementation

Engineering Quality & Compliance

  • Welding knowledge is preferred, especially in weld inspection
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, mechanical drawings, and customer-supplied manuals
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements using rulers, calipers, and other precision tools
  • Skills in MS Excel and Word; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and SharePoint is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with Pareto charts, defect tracking, and process improvement initiatives is a plus
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
