Position Overview

The Managing Lead Helicopter A&P Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the airworthiness of assigned helicopters while supporting and coordinating maintenance activities across the base. This role ensures all aircraft are mission-ready and maintained in full compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer requirements.

You will serve as a key technical resource, supporting daily maintenance operations, documenting work performed, and assisting with fleet readiness across multiple locations when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections and scheduled maintenance to ensure continued airworthiness
  • Troubleshoot and repair helicopter airframe and powerplant systems
  • Communicate aircraft status and maintenance findings to the Lead Mechanic
  • Maintain parts inventory and requisition components as required
  • Complete accurate aircraft logbook entries and maintenance documentation
  • Update electronic maintenance systems including work packages, removals, and installations
  • Maintain tooling and ensure calibration schedules are met
  • Provide maintenance support at multiple bases as needed

Required Qualifications

Position Overview

STS Technical Services is recruiting an experienced VFR Helicopter Pilot to support operations for a leading air medical transport provider in Bay City, Texas.

In this role, pilots conduct life saving air medical transport missions while maintaining strict adherence to FAA regulations, company operational procedures, and safety management initiatives.

Aircraft and Operational Details

  • Aircraft: Bell 407
  • Location: Bay City, Texas
  • Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
  • 24 hour operational coverage
  • Day and night flight operations
  • VFR and NVG operations
  • Off duty housing available

Compensation

  • Sign On Bonus: Up to $75,000
  • Competitive base pay, shift bonuses, and annual safety and performance bonuses
  • Relocation assistance may be available

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Bell 407 helicopter for air medical transport missions per the General Operations Manual (GOM)
  • Assist with loading and unloading patients and equipment as required
  • Adhere to FAA regulations, company policies, and safety protocols
  • Support community outreach programs and maintain internal and external customer service excellence
  • Participate in safety meetings and company safety campaigns
  • Maintain accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and operational communications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certificate
  • Instrument Rating
  • VFR and NVG qualified
  • First Class FAA Medical

Flight Experience Requirements

  • 2,000 Total Flight Hours
  • 1,500 Helicopter Flight Hours
  • 1,000 PIC Helicopter Hours
  • 500 Turbine Helicopter Hours
  • 100 Unaided Night Hours — or —
  • 50 Unaided Night + 100 Night Vision Goggle (NVG) Hours

Additional Requirements

  • Maximum body weight: 235 lbs
  • Must pass pre placement physical, drug screen, and background check
  • Strong communication and internal and external customer service skills
  • Interview and acceptance by management required
  • Annual flu vaccine not required
  • Candidates must reside within one hour of the base location

Position Overview

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on light aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines

  • Perform detailed inspections, installations, and modifications on airframes and engines

Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (Required)
