Position Summary:

Qualifications:

Position Overview

STS Technical Services is hiring a Traveling MRO Maintenance Representative in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This role is responsible for supervising and managing all aspects of C-Check and Heavy Maintenance operations for Mesa Airlines. You will ensure maintenance activities meet quality and FAA regulatory standards while maintaining strict financial and labor oversight. This position requires close collaboration with maintenance providers, inspection personnel, and company leadership to keep aircraft airworthy, serviceable, and compliant with Mesa Airlines’ General Procedures Manual (GPM).

Key Responsibilities

General:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of C-Check and Heavy Maintenance check activities
  • Ensure compliance with Mesa Airlines’ General Procedures Manual (GPM) and FAA requirements
  • Supervise financial and labor controls related to maintenance projects
  • Perform assigned inspection functions to confirm aircraft airworthiness and serviceability

Specific Duties:

  • Approve labor and man-hour estimates for all check activity
  • Monitor routine and non-routine work to ensure completion to quality standards
  • Review and approve invoices prior to final billing; resolve discrepancies with providers
  • Coordinate on-site inspection and materials personnel during check activity
  • Prepare for incoming and outgoing aircraft (pre-induction and post-visit reviews)
  • Review CASS data with check providers to monitor quality of completed work
  • Confirm all work is performed by qualified, authorized, and approved personnel
  • Manage costs, track savings, and report to senior management
  • Inspect job progress, procedures, and maintenance documentation for compliance
  • Audit completed maintenance records for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure maintenance providers submit original aircraft documents to Technical Records on time
  • Perform receiving inspections of materials/equipment for proper certification
  • Review and approve major/minor repair orders for use on company aircraft
  • Monitor station work orders, inventory, tool life, and shelf-life programs
  • Conduct and oversee company-required and recurrent training for contracted personnel
  • Ensure accurate task tracking in the PMI system, including deferred tasks and life-limited parts
  • Perform audits of maintenance providers for compliance with Mesa policies and GPM requirements
  • Enforce shift turnover and work interruption procedures
  • Ensure use of current technical data during maintenance activities
  • Oversee proper tagging of aircraft components
  • Ensure compliance with the Company Read & Initial program
  • Monitor providers for compliance with FAA Service Difficulty Reporting (SDR) procedures
  • Perform in-process inspections of contracted maintenance personnel
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Manager of MRO Services

Qualifications

  • FAA Mechanic’s Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings
  • Meets requirements of 14 CFR § 65.83
  • Minimum 1 year of experience returning aircraft to service
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience maintaining aircraft similar to Mesa Airlines’ fleet
  • Minimum 1 year of inspection/maintenance experience on large aircraft (10+ passenger seats) with an air carrier or certified repair station
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered
  • Ability to work varied shifts
  • Ability to travel frequently (up to 60%) and accept temporary duty assignments
  • Must successfully pass initial and random drug screenings
