Position Overview

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing purchasing operations, managing supplier performance, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials. This role collaborates closely with operations, buyers, and vendors to ensure accurate data, cost-effective decisions, and continuous improvement in procurement performance.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts and pricing
Research and evaluate current vendors and potential new suppliers
Analyze market trends to forecast pricing and availability
Review and analyze blanket orders and provide insights to the buyer
Review open order reports and communicate potential delays to operations
Maintain accurate inventory data and update purchasing parameters based on market trends
Expedite critical components that may impact production timelines
Monitor supplier delays and coordinate alternative sourcing or expediting options
Track and report purchase order status and investigate late deliveries
Schedule recurring supplier meetings to review open orders
Review and negotiate new supplier quotes, finalize pricing agreements, and manage terms
Monitor supplier performance and maintain Vendor Issue Log
Issue scorecards and corrective actions to underperforming suppliers
Develop sourcing strategies based on raw material market trends
Collaborate with the senior purchasing team to improve vendor selection and cost controls

Required Qualifications

Strong negotiation, decision-making, and organizational skills
Proven understanding of purchasing and planning operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Pareto Charts for procurement analysis
Six Sigma Black Belt certification
Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor Kinetic
Background in purchasing or planning within a manufacturing environment

Your Role & Responsibilities

Perform engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks within the workshop in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Support the efficient turnaround of engine shop inputs, ensuring customer expectations and company objectives are met.
Follow approved technical documentation (ESM, CMM, SRM, IPC) to carry out all maintenance tasks to the highest standard.
Assist with near-wing and on-wing field support, as required.
Adhere to company Health & Safety policies, fostering a safe and compliant work environment.
Maintain accuracy and efficiency in all tasks to reduce turnaround times while upholding quality.
Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions.
Work collaboratively with team leaders, workshop managers, and cross-functional teams to meet operational goals.

Skills & Experience Required

Time-served aerospace industry apprenticeship with a minimum of two years’ post-apprenticeship experience.
Previous company approval on at least one of the engine types listed above.
Hands-on experience in a busy engine shop, working on engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
Familiarity with engine shop manuals and regulatory standards, including relevant ATA chapters.
Understanding of Part 145 and FAA regulations.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Borescope inspection experience is desirable.
Current Human Factors training, EWIS Level 1 & 2, and Fuel Tank Safety Level 1 & 2 preferred (training can be provided).
Forklift license is desirable, but training can be arranged.
