Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts and pricing
  • Research and evaluate current vendors and potential new suppliers

  • Review and analyze blanket orders and provide insights to the buyer
  • Review open order reports and communicate potential delays to operations
  • Maintain accurate inventory data and update purchasing parameters based on market trends

  • Track and report purchase order status and investigate late deliveries
  • Schedule recurring supplier meetings to review open orders
  • Review and negotiate new supplier quotes, finalize pricing agreements, and manage terms
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain Vendor Issue Log
  • Issue scorecards and corrective actions to underperforming suppliers
  • Develop sourcing strategies based on raw material market trends
  • Collaborate with the senior purchasing team to improve vendor selection and cost controls

Required Qualifications

  • Strong negotiation, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Proven understanding of purchasing and planning operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Pareto Charts for procurement analysis
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor Kinetic
  • Background in purchasing or planning within a manufacturing environment

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks within the workshop in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Follow approved technical documentation (ESM, CMM, SRM, IPC) to carry out all maintenance tasks to the highest standard.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Time-served aerospace industry apprenticeship with a minimum of two years’ post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Previous company approval on at least one of the engine types listed above.
  • Hands-on experience in a busy engine shop, working on engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
  • Familiarity with engine shop manuals and regulatory standards, including relevant ATA chapters.
  • Understanding of Part 145 and FAA regulations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Borescope inspection experience is desirable.
  • Current Human Factors training, EWIS Level 1 & 2, and Fuel Tank Safety Level 1 & 2 preferred (training can be provided).
  • Forklift license is desirable, but training can be arranged.
