Experienced CNC RepairMaintenance Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced MRB Technician to join our client’s Quality team in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This is a full-time, onsite role supporting critical manufacturing and quality operations within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Position Summary:

As an MRB Technician, you will be responsible for managing nonconforming material through the Material Review Board process. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely disposition, tracking, and resolution of all nonconforming parts and assemblies. This position plays a key role in supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze nonconforming material reports (NCMRs) for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to determine disposition (rework, scrap, use-as-is, return to vendor)
  • Log and track all MRB items in the appropriate quality management system (QMS)
  • Manage physical inventory of nonconforming material, including proper segregation and labeling in MRB areas
  • Assist Quality Engineers with root cause investigations and development of corrective actions
  • Communicate MRB decisions across teams and ensure timely closure of NCMRs
  • Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Generate reports and metrics for management review related to MRB trends

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail with a methodical, process-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience working in a heavy equipment or automotive manufacturing environment preferred

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing or a quality-related role
  • Understanding of nonconformance handling and MRB processes
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor is a plus

Physical and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and perform standing, walking, sitting, crouching, and lifting tasks throughout the shift
  • Work may take place in non-climate-controlled environments for extended periods

Position Overview:

Maintain, repair, modify, fabricate, and installation of parts, items, and assemblies of structural components using current technical data such as blue prints or manufacturers drawings/manuals.  Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces for aircraft repair.  Performs repairs with varying sheet metal types, and thicknesses.  Remove and replace of various fastener types such as solid rivets, blind rivet, HI-Loc, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:                            

  • Must have ability to read and follow all work instructions, as well as properly document work performed using documents such as process planning, adhesive log sheets, Material Review Board/Engineering Work Orders (MRB/EWO’s), Process Specifications, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Manuals, etc.
  • Must be able to read basic blueprints
  • Must be able to use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.).
  • Must be able to use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
  • Must have ability to perform alignment/assembly using jig, templates and fixtures.
  • Must be able to perform trimming burring, countersinking, riveting, drilling and reaming to blueprint specified tolerance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience performing mechanical assembly in an aircraft, automotive, or similar environment is preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent
  • Able to stand, kneel, bend, and lift heavy objects (50 lbs.), for extended periods of time.

Position Overview:

Dallas Aeronautical Services (DAS) is an industry leading repair and overhaul facility specializing in composites, flight structures, components and nacelles for today’s sophisticated business and commercial aircraft.   We recognize this is the result of our talented team of trusted employees working together to deliver customer service excellence.

As a bond technician you will perform repairs on parts /components by means of “Wet Layup” and “Prepreg”.  Some repairs must be facilitated by the use of a clean room and cured by means of an autoclave.  Types of Composite bonding methods utilized in repair may consist of: Co-curing, Co-bonding, secondary bonding, metal bonding, with adhesives in liquid form, and film.

Duties & Responsibilities:                            

  • Repairs are made in accordance with current technical data and procedures.
  • Must be able to read basic blueprints
  • Must be able to use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.).
  • Must be able to use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
  • Must have ability to perform alignment/assembly using jig, templates and fixtures.
  • PPE must be used when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding
  • Extensive use of bagging materials
  • Must be able to properly bag for a wide range of component shapes and styles.
  • Capable of using a “Hot-Bonder” type machine cure procedure.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience performing repairs on parts /components by means of “Wet Layup” and “Prepreg”
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent
  • Stand, kneel, bend for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 50 lbs

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general to complex maintenance task on assigned aircraft and related systems. This shall include, but not limited to items such as removal and installation of panels and components, repair work, and sheet metal repair or installation.
  • Perform aircraft mechanic duties that require an advance level of knowledge, training of junior level technicians or troubleshooting repairs.
  • Examines, disassembles and inspects engines, parts or other components for wear, warping, breaks, leaks or other non-conformities or deficiencies. Assembles and installs electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Services and maintains aircraft systems by performing tasks, including, but not limited to flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, functional components, and parts, such as wings and fuselage, rigging, and hydraulic units.
  • Tests engine and system operations, using testing equipment, and listens to engine sounds to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Removes engine from aircraft or installs engine, using hoist or forklift truck.
  • Disassembles, and or modifies aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, engineering orders and technical publications.
  • Reads and interprets aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Adjusts, aligns, and calibrates aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Maintain and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required.
  • Work independently on projects when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Associate’s Degree in Aviation Technology preferred along with aircraft model specific training.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years current experience maintaining, inspecting, servicing and repairing corporate aircraft.
  • Must possess a valid FAA A&P License.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience in Aviation Maintenance Software programs such as Corridor is preferred.

Attendance:

  • Must have regular attendance and be able to work overtime when needed and potentially work alternate shifts as determined by aircraft schedules and manpower needs.

Compliance:

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and US Passport (preferred); must pass a pre-employment drug test; ongoing employment requires participation and compliance with the Anti Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program which includes random testing.
