Position Summary

As an Aircraft Painter, you will perform everything from standard paint applications to complex custom designs on corporate civilian aircraft. This role is hands-on and detail-focused, requiring both technical skills and artistic ability.

Responsibilities

  • Mask and tape aircraft components to prevent overspray
  • Sand primer and prep surfaces for paint application
  • Clean aircraft surfaces with thinner and prepare paint booth
  • Apply all layers of paint, including base coats and top coats
  • Lay out and execute detailed stripe and design schemes
  • Prep and scuff paint surfaces for trim applications
  • Re-mask aircraft for detail work and touch-ups
  • Inspect completed paint jobs for quality and compliance
  • Mix and match paint accurately to achieve desired results
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vo-tech school training in paint or related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license for airline travel or passport ideal but not required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience painting corporate jets or equivalent aircraft

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Perform routine walking, bending, squatting, and standing for long periods
  • Work at heights using ladders or scaffolding
  • Pass a pulmonary physical and respirator fit test (PPE required)

Supervision

  • Reports to assigned Team Leader and follows all company protocols

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed in a heated hangar or shop
  • Ramp work may be required depending on schedule
  • Positions may vary in and around the aircraft during tasks

Equipment Used

  • Air tools including polishers and sanders
  • Electrostatic paint guns, pressure pots, and laser levels

  • Manage and track engine and APU removals and installations within TRAX and other internal tracking systems.
  • Ensure proper archiving and tracking of commercial and Back-to-Birth powerplant records.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding powerplant records, including requests from Engineering, Maintenance Planning, Lessors, and Regulatory Agencies.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff responsible for maintaining powerplant records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in powerplant records administration and implementation.
  • A&P license preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, aviation, or a related field preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of AirVault, TRAX, and AIMS systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
