Position Summary

The Aircraft Avionics Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing avionics and electrical systems on aircraft. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems

  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic system malfunctions and performance issues

Position Summary

  • Able to identify bolts, screws, rivets and various fasteners used to support or assemble components.
  • Installs units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Locates and marks reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Provide information and documentation for engineering requests.
  • Comply with repair station procedures (RSM /QCM) and company policies (SOP) when performing aircraft or component maintenance.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Job Description:

Examines, repairs, assembles, and tests aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, carburetors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices, and following shop orders and manufacturer’s specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components; performs complete operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls, etc.
  • Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme, quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies.
  • Repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary.
  • Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Consults the Maintenance Lead if technical assistance is needed during the repair process.
  • Inspects completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework; performs rework; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using test equipment specified by the original equipment manufacturer.

Base Manager - Aircraft Fuel Systems Job in Tampa, FL Tank Tigers

Tank Tigers, an STS Aviation Group Company, is hiring an Aircraft Base Manager in Wilmington, Ohio. This role leads fuel system maintenance operations, oversees technicians, and ensures all work is performed safely, correctly, and in full compliance with FAA regulations. Position Overview

The Base Manager is responsible for supervising aircraft fuel system maintenance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting technician development. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage maintenance operations in a fast-paced environment.

This position operates under FAA Part 145 requirements and must meet qualification standards outlined in 14 CFR 145.153.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise aircraft fuel tank maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration tasks in accordance with FAA regulations
  • Ensure continuity of maintenance activities and proper shift turnover documentation
  • Verify all maintenance is performed in accordance with applicable technical data and company procedures
  • Ensure confined space entry procedures are properly executed and monitored
  • Confirm appropriate tools, equipment, and maintenance data are used for all assigned work
  • Assign tasks only to personnel with the proper experience, training, and qualifications
  • Train, assist, and supervise technicians in proper maintenance practices and procedures
  • Serve as a technical resource for consultation and guidance on maintenance activities
  • Ensure only qualified mechanics sign off on completed work
  • Review and verify accuracy of maintenance records and documentation
  • Ensure all on-the-job training is documented and submitted to the Training Department
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and shop areas
  • Ensure proper handling and control of parts during and after maintenance
  • Ensure all required tags and forms are properly completed and attached
  • Oversee completion of customer requirements for supplied parts
  • Delegate duties to qualified personnel while maintaining overall accountability
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facility Manager
  • Maintain awareness of applicable FAA regulations including Parts 14, 65, and 43
  • Work a flexible schedule and operate in confined space environments as required

Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License required
  • Minimum of 4 years of aircraft systems maintenance experience
  • Must meet qualification requirements under RSM Section 4.6.9
  • Must meet supervisory qualification requirements under 14 CFR 145.153
  • Strong knowledge of fuel tank maintenance practices, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Ability to supervise, train, and mentor maintenance personnel
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and physically demanding environments

Preferred Skills

  • FAA A&P License with demonstrated ability to train and mentor technicians
  • Must have the ability to work with maintenance managers of all levels
  • Must be computer literate, and able to competently utilize basic software packages

Work Environment

  • Maintenance facility and aircraft environment
  • Requires working in confined spaces and physically demanding conditions
  • Flexible scheduling required to support operational needs

The A&P Maintenance Technician supports the daily needs of the maintenance operations of our customers, and ensures an outstanding experience by providing top level service.

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

  • This position reports directly to the Station Manager and Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technicians , and works in close partnership with the field Airlines, Flight Crew and other Aircraft Maintenance Controllers.
  • Ensures aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and best practices.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair different transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity.
  • Adjust, repair or replace defective components based on analysis of test results, following maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks and other technical documentation.
  • Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear, and repair or replace as required.
  • Other duties as may be deemed necessary.
  • Able to work outdoors and in inclement weather as required.
  • Work will be performed on the B737NG/MAX; A-320 family; E-145/170/17

The Ideal Candidate Requirements & Qualification:

  • Must hold a current valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) with no history of infractions.
  • Recent A&P experience on turbine powered aircraft considered a plus.
  • Own Set Of Standard Line Maintenance Tool (Calibrated & Specialty Tooling Will Be Provided).
  • Self-Motivated with positive attitude and able to perform with minimal supervision.
  • With or without accommodations, employees must be able to work standing, must be able to climb ladders and stairs, and must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to pass background check/drug & alcohol test and Customs & Border Patrol Clearance
  • Must have basic To Mid-Level Computer & Organizational Skills
  • Experience working under a FAA approved Part 145 repair station or Part 135 experience highly desired
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) License a plus.
  • Must be able to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Ability to work with little supervision to troubleshoot and repair systems on aircraft airframe and engine(s), including electrical, mechanical and hydraulic.
  • Versatility, flexibility, will be important as the schedule could include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Superior customer focus, communication skills, and work ethic with a commitment to excellence.

Rate Of Pay:

  • Rate of pay is determined on previous experience, and will range between $28 and $35 per hour.
