Position Overview

  • Coordinate with Engineering to validate interchangeability and effectivity of new rotable part numbers
  • Provide Supply Chain with newly identified rotable part numbers to support forecasting and stocking strategies
  • Configure fleet types in FMIS, including updates related to rotable conversions
  • Support Records and Materials teams in resolving part transaction issues and perform system updates when required
  • Perform ongoing part number tracking audits to ensure accuracy

  • Participate on cross-functional teams to determine inventory needs based on planned demand
  • Analyze historical usage rates and component failure rates alongside Recommended Spares Provisioning Lists to determine optimal stocking levels and allocated spares
  • Minimize on-hand inventory while maintaining required service levels
  • Build team consensus on inventory requirements and decision-making processes for stocking level changes
  • Issue requisitions to buyers, answer questions, conduct reviews, and resolve open issues
  • Analyze existing inventory levels and open requisitions
  • Work with operations to manage changes in stocking levels
  • Develop processes to identify and track key metrics across the full inventory cycle
  • Gain consensus with operations on appropriate metrics and tracking processes
  • Review inventory management processes and gain alignment with Material Services teams
  • Review and improve cycle count processes to increase accuracy
  • Manage cycle count progress and track key performance metrics
  • Support operating groups in resolving supplier issues including commercial disputes, operational challenges, and communication gaps
  • Collaborate with operating teams to build action plans that improve inventory accuracy
  • Identify material operations processes that require redesign or enhancement to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Map current processes, identify weaknesses, and implement improved workflows
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of inventory levels
  • Maintain familiarity with training requirements as defined in Section 100.03 Maintenance Training for Maintenance Organization Personnel and ensure compliance prior to performing job functions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Manager, Materials Operations and Inventory Control

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be available to work on site in Denver, Colorado
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field required
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, material planning, financial analysis, or related field
  • Experience sourcing airline goods and services preferred
  • Leadership or project management experience in supply chain operations or financial analysis preferred
  • Strongly preferred experience using AMOS and or TRAX systems for aircraft materials tracking and management
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and web-based systems
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Able and willing to travel as required

Buyer AOG, Aircraft Material Services

STS Engineering Solutions is hiring an AOG Buyer in Denver, Colorado. This role supports aircraft-on-ground operations where time is critical, decisions matter, and delays are not an option. If you know how to source parts under pressure, manage supplier performance, and keep maintenance operations moving, this is where you step in.

Position Summary

The Buyer, AOG is responsible for supporting Maintenance with critical part requirements to fulfill variable demands that impact airline operations. This includes sourcing aircraft parts, initiating purchase orders, expediting existing orders, and coordinating logistics to meet immediate operational needs.

This position also supports inventory planning across the system to ensure internal customer requirements and service levels are consistently met.

Job Responsibilities

  • Continuous follow up to ensure supplier and delivery commitments are met.
  • Coordinate internal part movements.
  • Maintain detailed records including all pertinent information for each request.
  • Communicate updates through reports with various departments.
  • Act as a liaison between Purchasing, Stores, and the Maintenance Operations Control Center.
  • Proactively monitor loan and borrow activity, MEL, CDL, and NEF item activity, and other key departmental metrics.
  • Proactively review stocking and usage levels.
  • Evaluate inventory requirements and establish proper minimum, maximum, and EOQ levels.
  • Identify interchangeable parts and seek Engineering approval for use.
  • Update part catalog to ensure 100 percent accuracy.
  • Maintain familiarity with training requirements as defined in Section 100.03 Maintenance Training for Maintenance Organization Personnel and ensure training is current prior to performing job functions.
  • Perform all other duties as reasonably requested by the Senior Manager, Materials Management.

Qualifications and Experience
