JLTV A2 Test Site Engineer (Travel Position)

STS Technical Services is hiring a Test Site Field Service Representative JLTV in Fort Greely, Alaska. This role is built for experienced vehicle technicians with deep knowledge of the JLTV platform who want to support prototype testing, field operations, and military readiness in demanding environments. You will serve as a hands on Subject Matter Expert supporting United States Government and military customers at test locations across the country and abroad.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on automotive systems including JLTV, trailers, and HMMWV, with technical knowledge, tooling requirements, and maintenance procedures.
  • Attend JLTV A2 FoV & trailer training in Indiana and/or Michigan.
  • Provide field service support to customers globally, addressing technical and service inquiries.
  • Assist Engineering during testing at various CONUS and OCONUS sites.
  • Conduct training (OPNET & FLMNET) for U.S. and foreign customers.
  • Create detailed field service reports on program and vehicle status, deficiencies, and repairs.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance for prototype government vehicle testing.
  • Promote Training and Field Service capabilities to customers.
  • Liaise between customer field operations and internal teams for product concerns.
  • Provide daily updates on vehicle status and participate in test-related reviews and meetings.
  • Travel to support test site locations as needed.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Automotive vocational degree or five years of technical experience required.
  • ASE certifications preferred.
  • Prior MOS experience related to JLTV and HMMWV FoV is desirable.
  • Experience in operator and maintainer-level instruction beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and SharePoint required.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and obtain a company credit card.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in automotive systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment and CAN BUS networks preferred.
  • Experience with Government and OEM prototype test site support is a plus.
  • Must be able to qualify, obtain, and hold a U.S. Government clearance and/or CAC

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 90% travel required. Must obtain a U.S. Passport.

  • Work with original equipment manufacturers on emerging issues to ensure safety and airworthiness and minimize economic impact
  • Organize, develop, and provide all necessary Structures Engineering documentation required to complete aircraft structures modifications and repairs within schedule and budget
  • Provide technical support to Tech Ops, Ground Ops, Flight Ops, and other personnel
