Job Description:

Examines, repairs, assembles, and tests aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, carburetors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices, and following shop orders and manufacturer’s specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components; performs complete operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls, etc.
  • Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme, quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies.
  • Repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary.
  • Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Consults the Maintenance Lead if technical assistance is needed during the repair process.
  • Inspects completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework; performs rework; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using test equipment specified by the original equipment manufacturer.
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping after finishing all designated operations.
  • Submits completed/in-progress work to Maintenance Lead for review; submits to Quality Assurance for final/in-progress inspection and re-certification of airworthiness.
  • Provides supervisor with performance statistics and other operational data, as requested.
  • Properly accounts for time and materials used in all inspection and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School/ GED
  • A&P

Experience:

  • Required: A & P License; minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience with small aircraft/ general aviation trained in one aircraft type; proficient and demonstrated skill with the aircraft.
  • Several years or actual and recent depot level aircraft maintenance and repair experience is required, (repair of mechanical systems, components, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, rigging etc.); proficiency with interpretation of original equipment manufacturer’s technical data or work package instructions; experience using power or pneumatic hand tools.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Assignments require Standard Knowledge of a Technical Area.
  • Rapid learning and application of new information and concepts within the Technical Area begins to take place at this level.
  • Performs moderately complex Technical Assignments.
  • Assists Advanced Level Technicians on more complex technical assignments.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repairs and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  • Skilled with repairing, troubleshooting, installing and equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance procedures
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend manufacturer and FAA approved work package instructions; ability to inspect and install parts/components.

  • Research aircraft component removals to determine the potential for a warranty claim
  • Maintain an inventory of unserviceable components until the completion of the warranty claim process

  • Issue and manage RFPs for aircraft maintenance and repair services
  • Ensure contract compliance for the life of each agreement

  • Submit warranty claims on various unscheduled out-of-service aircraft events, scheduled removals driven by Engineering Orders, Service Bulletins, and commitment letters
  • Negotiate claims and settlements for labor and material costs with external suppliers when rework and replacements are not specifically covered by established warranty agreements
  • Maintain proficiency in a range of contractual supplier agreements that define warranty details and the specific process for submitting orders and warranty claims
  • Utilize Outlook for scheduling and coordinating events across the organization
  • Maintain familiarization with the training requirements necessary as defined in Section 100.03 Maintenance Training for Maintenance Organization Personnel and ensure training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position
  • Perform all other duties as reasonably requested by the Manager, Repair and Warranty Administration

Qualifications & Experience

  • College degree in Business, Engineering, or an aviation-related field required

  • 3 to 5 years of aviation industry experience in maintenance or as an aircraft operator required

STS Line Maintenance is hiring an Aviation Parts Runner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will support aircraft maintenance operations by safely, accurately, and efficiently moving aircraft parts, materials, tools, and components between the materials warehouse, maintenance technicians, and aircraft.

This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable supporting fast-moving line maintenance operations where timing, documentation, and accountability matter.

Position Summary

The Aviation Parts Runner reports directly to the Station Manager or Materials Manager, as applicable. This position is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate movement of aircraft parts, materials, and components between the materials warehouse and aircraft in accordance with all applicable company policies, maintenance procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

The Aviation Parts Runner plays an important support role in helping maintenance teams keep aircraft moving by transporting serviceable and unserviceable parts, supporting AOG requirements, verifying documentation, maintaining traceability, and assisting warehouse and logistics operations as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Aviation Parts Runner is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Transport aircraft parts, materials, tools, and related items from the materials warehouse to assigned maintenance technicians and/or aircraft
  • Retrieve serviceable and unserviceable aircraft parts, components, and materials from technicians and/or aircraft and return them to the warehouse for proper processing, inspection, and inventory control
  • Verify that all required documentation, tags, labels, certifications, and accompanying paperwork are complete, accurate, and properly attached to parts prior to delivery
  • Ensure unserviceable parts returned to the warehouse are accompanied by the appropriate maintenance documentation and discrepancy records
  • Coordinate and deliver Aircraft on Ground parts to outbound aircraft and verify proper transfer and loading by ground handling personnel
  • Retrieve Aircraft on Ground parts arriving on inbound aircraft and transport them to the warehouse or directly to the assigned technician or aircraft, as required
  • Maintain the security, accountability, and traceability of all parts and materials during transportation and handling
  • Ensure all transported parts and materials are properly secured within the vehicle to prevent damage, contamination, or loss
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and professional manner while complying with all company policies and applicable traffic regulations
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company standards and insurance requirements
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean, orderly, and serviceable condition
  • Report any vehicle deficiencies or maintenance concerns to management
  • Support warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations as directed
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, security, quality assurance, and environmental requirements
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support operational requirements

A&P Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Technicians in Macon, Georgia.

Job Description:

Examines, repairs, assembles, and tests aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, carburetors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices, and following shop orders and manufacturer’s specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components; performs complete operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls, etc.
  • Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme, quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies.
  • Repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary.
  • Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Consults the Maintenance Lead if technical assistance is needed during the repair process.
  • Inspects completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework; performs rework; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using test equipment specified by the original equipment manufacturer.
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping after finishing all designated operations.
  • Submits completed/in-progress work to Maintenance Lead for review; submits to Quality Assurance for final/in-progress inspection and re-certification of airworthiness.
  • Provides supervisor with performance statistics and other operational data, as requested.
  • Properly accounts for time and materials used in all inspection and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School/ GED
  • A&P

Experience:

  • Required: A & P License; minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience with small aircraft/ general aviation trained in one aircraft type; proficient and demonstrated skill with the aircraft.
  • Several years or actual and recent depot level aircraft maintenance and repair experience is required, (repair of mechanical systems, components, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, rigging etc.); proficiency with interpretation of original equipment manufacturer’s technical data or work package instructions; experience using power or pneumatic hand tools.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Assignments require Standard Knowledge of a Technical Area.
  • Rapid learning and application of new information and concepts within the Technical Area begins to take place at this level.
  • Performs moderately complex Technical Assignments.
  • Assists Advanced Level Technicians on more complex technical assignments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on interior assemblies and subassemblies such as seats, cabinets, panels, partitions, divan, and In-flight entertainment equipment.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed while following appropriate clean-as-you go shop practices.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions
  • Follows approved assembly procedures for component or aircraft structures, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.
  • Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests utilizing test equipment specified in technical manuals.
  • Completes work package documentation per FAA and/or repair station manual.
  • Submits completed work to Quality Assurance for final/in progress inspection and certification of airworthiness.

Experience:

  • Generally 1-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
  • Requiring Basic Skills to perform basic tasks within the Technical Area assigned to in area of responsibility with assembly, mechanical, electrical or aircraft structures as well as able to use all tech data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.
