Welcoming Keith Russo to the STS Technical Services’ Family

Who is Keith Russo?

The answer is to this all intriguing question is complex. Keith is man of many layers. Some will say that his depth is due, in part, to his Brooklyn upbringing. Others will say that his time in Los Angeles working in the showbiz industry is what makes him so intriguing. I say that Keith is just an incredible guy with an incredibly cool story; one that we are going to learn a little more about right now.

Welcome, everyone. Today it gives me great pleasure to introduce Keith Russo, our newest Technical Recruiter in Jensen Beach, Florida. And while Keith isn’t necessarily new to STS Technical Services, he did just return to us after some time away, and we would like to help you all get to know Keith just a little bit better. To that end, we recently asked Keith three questions, and his answers to those questions are provided below.

Thanks in advance for taking the time, and Keith, welcome back, my man. It’s so nice to have you!

Question 1: Tell us a little about your professional background, education and / or experience?

I’m originally from Brooklyn, New York and moved to Los Angeles when I was 23.  After dabbling in showbiz and working around town at clubs like the Troubadour and the Whisky a Go Go, I finally started an aviation career in 2005 with Jetblue Airways.  I was with Jetblue for 12 years, 10 as a supervisor, until I relocated to sunny Florida in 2018.  I began recruiting with STS the moment I landed, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Questions 2: What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

I love to travel, but being the dad of a 4-year old (and Covid hitting) has put a damper on any recent travel plans.  These days I spend as much time as I can with my son. I enjoy taking him to baseball games (he can already tell you the starting lineup of the Yankees) and to Disney as much as possible.  If I do get some free time for myself, I like to act in and direct community theatre here in the area.  I also enjoy live music and have seen Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam combined around 100 times. I’ve been looking forward to show #101 for quite a while now (same with us, Keith. Same with us.).

Question 3: If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

Luke Skywalker. I mean, he blew up the Death Star and defeated Darth Vader. Also, spoiler alert, but did you see the last episode of The Mandalorian? May the force be with you!

Shortly after graduating, however, she want on to obtain her M.A. degree from Cardinal Stritch University, which ultimately helped her land her first teaching job.  So how did Aubrey end up in Recruiting? That’s a great question. Let’s hear it from the woman, herself. Proud Alumni of UW Whitewater with a BA of Arts Degree in Sociology and Minor in Dance, as well as, Cardinal Stritch University for my Masters of Arts Program in Teaching. I began my career journey as a 1st grade teacher for several years after graduation. Human Resources and Recruiting found me after many years of teaching. I was offered an exciting opportunity to switch careers and quickly realized that I could utilize the skill set and commonalities I had when I was teacher; so I took the chance…SO glad I did. I began recruiting at a staffing agency for Professional roles and fell in love with the idea of helping others and coaching them in there next career choices. Since then I have been employed as a Corporate Recruiter, and Human Resources Recruiter with a heavy focus on RPO recruiting and implementing HR Practices as it relates to best practices/processes for Hiring and Onboarding employees. I am skilled in Engineering, IT Networking Engineer, Human Resources, Health Care and Accounting roles in various industries.

Questions 2: What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

You will find me running around with my little girl, Sage, hanging out with my husband, Nick, and mastiff dog, Bowser. I spend my weekends hanging out with my family, close friends or extended family. We live in an area surrounded by lakes and love to boat, and are avid wakeboarders and skiers. I am a runner and biker; and enjoy HIIT workouts; anything to stay active as health is important to me. My passion and side hustle is teaching dance for a local studio for High School students which I have been doing for the last 7 years; emphasis in Contemporary and Jazz genre.

Question 3: If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

Wonder Woman. But really, she is a BOSS. I grew up with strong women in my life that demonstrated and instilled confidence/self-worth, humbleness, grace, empathy, empowerment, grit, loyalty and strength through it all. I feel she encompasses all of this and what I strive to be as a mother, sister, daughter, friend and professional.

Welcoming Gary Lortscher to the STS Technical Services’ Family

Gary Lortscher

When most people think of what if means to be cool, guys like Paul Newman, Sean Connery and Steve McQueen come to mind. When I think of what it means to be cool, the first name that pops into my head is Gary Lortscher. Who is Gary Lortscher, you ask? He’s our newest Technical Recruiter in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and he’s also one of the coolest cats you will ever meet.

Gary joined the STS Technical Services’ crew on Monday, May 10th. He comes to us with a wealth of Recruiting experience, an infectious attitude and some serious panache.

If you would like to get to know Gary just a little bit better, check out the quick Q&A we did with him. When you are done, you’ll come to find that Gary is not only the man, professionally speaking, he’s also the type of man men want to emulate and women want to be around. Seriously… Gary is the cooler than a bowl of ice cream, and we are so excited to have him on our team!

Question 1: Tell us a little about your professional background, education and / or experience?

My name is Gary Lortscher, and I have about 15 years of direct hire and staff augmentation recruiting/ placement experience.  I also have a Bachelors of Science Degree from UW Oshkosh where I majored in Political Science. Prior to working in the staffing business, I was a licensed securities Broker/Trader with Strong Investments where I last worked as a Trading Manager.  In my 6 years in the securities business, I did not have a single execution trading error. I’m pretty proud of that.

Questions 2: What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

I am a big time outdoor enthusiast!  I am an avid hunter and frequent fisherman.  I own a 18 foot Aluminum sport fishing boat fully loaded with Lake Michigan equipment.  I love the art of chasing salmon and trout with locators and electronics.  Some in my family feel that I’m crazy because I am allergic to fish, but I do it for the thrill and adventure of the chase!  Kind of like when I was a young man in college, well… that’s a different story.

Question 3: If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

If I could be any superhero, I would be Superman!

I remember the series where he traveled around the rotation of the Earth and was able to go back in time.  Now that would just about open the doors to unlimited imagination to what a person can do!  Couple that with being indestructible, faster than a speeding bullet and able to fly in and out to different Galaxies… yeah, I’d be Superman, for sure.  The imagination is a wonderful thing, I think Einstein said.

Some people are “talkers.” Others are “doers.” At STS Technical Services, we like doers who can talk. Why? Because what’s recruiting, really, if not relationship building? And how can you build a relationship without being able to proactively talk / communicate effectively?

Every great Recruiter builds relationships with job seekers; working with them for extended periods of time to help them navigate an ever-changing workforce. Cultivating relationships, however, takes more than communication. It takes time, patience, persistence and trust. So… yeah. When we’re looking for a Recruiter to join our team (we are hiring right now, BTW), we look for experience, personality and drive. The whole package, really. And when we first met Stephanie Brown, we knew that we had found exactly who we were looking for.

For our employees working remotely, meet Stephanie. Stephanie is our newest Technical Recruiter based out of Melbourne, Florida. She, too, is working remotely right now, so we wanted to share this post with you so that you can get to know your new teammate just a little bit better.

Stephanie, welcome to the crew. We are all thrilled to have you!

I have five (5) years of recruiting  experience. Two of those years were spent in manufacturing, and the rest of that time was spent training job seekers on resume writing and proper interview techniques.

Questions 2: What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

I like to hang out with my family and watch home improvement shows.

Question 3: If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

“Stephanie Brown” from Batman (see below), but mostly because I wouldn’t have to change my name, which is a real pain.
