Welcoming Kurt Jansen to the STS Technical Services’ Family

Kurt Jansen

Prior to becoming our newest Technical Recruiter, Kurt Jansen was both a basketball player and a coach. In fact, Kurt played college ball for Lakeland University before spending six years coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels. It wasn’t until recently that he made a career change, and while his team was no doubt sad to see him go, we find ourselves extremely lucky to have him!

Welcome, everyone. We hope that you all are doing well. Today, it gives us great pleasure to introduce Kurt Jansen, the newest member of our Recruiting team in Wisconsin.

In an effort to help you get to know Kurt a little better, we asked him three questions and offered his responses to each below. Thanks in advance for taking the time, and Kurt, welcome to the family. We are so excited to have you!

Tell us a little about your professional background, education and / or experience?

I graduated and played college basketball at Lakeland University in 2015 with a degree in Exercise Science and Sport Studies. After graduation, I spent the next six years coaching high school and college basketball.

What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

I am a huge fan of watching sports. But when I am not doing that, I love playing golf, playing with my dog, fixing up my house and relaxing with friends and family.

If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

Aquaman: I would like to be able to swim and see all the amazing things underwater!

Sachi Greene Named to SIA’s 40-Under-40 List for 2021

Sachi Greene

Denver, CO., July 27, 2021Sachi Greene, SVP of Operations for STS Technical Services (STS), was recently named to Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) 40-under-40 list for 2021.

As one of the youngest members of STS’ executive team, Greene has spent the past eighteen months leading a company-wide effort to increase the organization’s use of technology and automation; a need driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and the team’s decision to shift to a fully-remote workforce.

“The pandemic has made this year extremely challenging, so to be be recognized by SIA for the work that I have been doing is an amazing feeling,” states Greene. “But this honor isn’t mine alone. My team is the primary reason I’m here today. Without their dedication and hard work, we wouldn’t be bouncing back as quickly as we are, so let me take a quick moment to thank each of them for their exceptional effort, kindness and support. I genuinely appreciate each of you and cannot thank you all enough.”

STS Technical Services specializes in providing workforce management solutions to clients across the aerospace, industrial, manufacturing and defense industries. And when the pandemic hit, the team made a decision to move it’s entire workforce out of four main U.S.-based offices and into fully-remote work environments. “The decision was easy for us to make. We had to keep our people safe. But to shift a workforce of 100+ into remote-work-only mode was a daunting task. I am proud to say, however, that everything has worked out really well. In fact, over the past year and a half, my team and I have implemented a variety of workflow automations and improvements that allow our workforce to maximize its efficiency, regardless of where our people login from,” says Greene.

“While the setbacks we experienced as a company due to the global pandemic were challenging, emerging from the downturn and into one of the tightest labor markets we have ever seen has made it even more important that our organization continues to be creative in its approach,” sites Greene. “Making sure that STS Technical Services is poised to execute on both its internal hiring needs and external client priorities right now is crucial to our company’s long-term success. That being said, we’ll continue to embrace the challenges as they come while remaining forever adaptable and open to change.”

Welcoming Brooke Rankin to the STS Technical Services’ Family

Brooke Rankin

We love welcoming new faces to the STS Technical Services’ family, and today our team has the distinct pleasure of welcoming Brooke Rankin, our newest Technical Recruiter.

Not only is Brooke a delightful person to work with, she’s a fantastic mother, a kind soul and an extremely hard worker.

In an effort to help you all get to know Brooke a little better, our marketing team asked her three questions, and her responses to each are below.

Thanks so much for taking the time, and welcome to the family, Brooke. We are really excited to have you!

Tell us a little about your professional background, education and / or experience?

I have an Associate’s degree in Human Resources Management and have completed a full-cycle recruiting internship. My past few years have been spent working in finance, and I’m happy that I made the transition to Recruiter.

What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

I have a toddler so she takes up the bulk of my free time. We like to play in our backyard and go to the park. I enjoy traveling when I have the chance. In fact, I recently visited New York City and am looking forward to vacationing in Hawaii in November.

If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

I would be Dr. Strange because he protects the earth from mythical and magical creatures. Truthfully, I am not a huge superhero fan, but I do appreciate Marvel over DC Comics.

Welcoming Jason Fraise to the STS Technical Services’ Family

Jason Fraise

Here’s the thing. Our newest Technical Recruiter, Jason Fraise, is a great guy. He really is. He works hard, he’s easy to get along with, he’s a great father and he loves sports. What’s not to like, right? At least that’s what I thought until I had the chance to review his new hire Q&A (see below).

Question three was supposed to be a simple one. I asked him which superhero he would be if he could be any superhero? His answer… Tom Brady. Ugh. I just can’t today. Go Bills!

Tell us a little about your professional background, education and / or experience?

I have 15 years full-cycle recruiting experience. I studied at Bridgewater State University where I graduated with a degree in Finance.

What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

Play sports — Definitely soccer, but I also like basketball, golf, tennis, racquetball and flag football.  I’m too old for tackle football.

TB12 — Tom Brady. Why? Because he’s the GOAT!

GOAT

Welcoming Tina Malm to the STS Technical Services’ Family

Tina Malm

Have any of you ever seen a movie called “The Hustler?” How about its long-awaited sequel, “The Color of Money?” Both are fantastic films where Paul Newman plays a character by the name of “Fast” Eddie Felson; a pool shark who works his way from billiard room to billiard room ready to empty the pockets of anyone who dares challenge him.

And while both movies are amazing, the story of “Fast Eddie” pals in comparison to the real life story of Tina Malm, our newest Recruiter based out of Severn, Maryland.

You see, Tina is not only an amazing Recruiter, she’s also a professional pool player who is currently ranked Top 25 in the country! With that in mind, if you happen to bump into Tina at a work event, don’t ever challenge her to a game of pool unless you’re willing to lose… and lose big. Tina is shark on the tables, and it’s that same killer mentality that has helped her thrive in her new career with STS Technical Services.

Let’s take a minute to get to know Tina a little bit better, shall we? Check out our quick Q&A below.

Tell us a little about your professional background, education and / or experience?

I’ve been a Recruiter both on the agency side and the corporate side; most recently for a government contractor in the D.C. area. There, I was in charge of staffing agency relationships and hiring cleared individuals.

I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Organizational Leadership and a minor in Labor & Employment Relations. I also have my PHR (Professional of Human Resources) certification (the hardest final exam I’ve ever taken).

My favorite part of recruiting is extending the offer and really getting to know the candidates with whom I work.

What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

I’ve been lucky to have traveled almost everywhere in the United States playing competitive, professional-level pool (I am currently ranked in the top 25 in the US). I love how the game challenges, delights and frustrates me, and yet it still teaches me so much.

I also love the smell of ocean air, dinner with friends, and movie/home time with my husband and daughter.

If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

With the ability to heal other people, eradicate plagues and bring people back from the dead, I would choose the Scarlet Witch. None of the negatives attributes she possesses, only the positives, of course! How amazing would it be to bring back Albert Einstein and hear his commentary and opinions about modern scientific progress? How funny would it be to hear George Carlin comment about the political and social occurrences of the last 5 years? Beyond that, being able to heal people and make a difference would be next-level amazing!

Welcoming Nala Diallo to the STS Technical Services’ Family

Nala Diallo

As the world slowly inches back to a semblance of normality, we at STS Technical Services find ourselves busier than we have been in quite a long time. We are so busy, in fact, that our team has grown a lot over the past few months.

Now in the pre-pandemic past, it would have been easy for us to get to know every new face around the office. Today, however, face-to-face interaction proves to be a touch more challenging with many of us still working remotely. This fact is why we created the “Meet the Team” series in the first place; to give our colleagues, clients, customers and friends the opportunity to get to know the new faces of STS Technical Services. To that end, it gives us great pleasure to introduce Nala Diallo, or newest Technical Recruiter in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Let’s get to know Nala a little bit better, shall we? Check out the quick Q:A below.

Tell us a little about your professional background, education and / or experience?

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. This past year, I was a Human Resource Intern and grew to love recruiting!

Questions 2: What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

I’m a big fan of crafting when time allows. I love crocheting, jewelry making and my recent favorite is making candles.

Question 3: If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

I would be Superwoman… for sure. I love what she stands form, and I love how she represents women and girls. She’s a strong, independent woman; the embodiment of feminine strength and I love that!

Welcoming Keith Russo to the STS Technical Services’ Family

Who is Keith Russo?

The answer is to this all intriguing question is complex. Keith is man of many layers. Some will say that his depth is due, in part, to his Brooklyn upbringing. Others will say that his time in Los Angeles working in the showbiz industry is what makes him so intriguing. I say that Keith is just an incredible guy with an incredibly cool story; one that we are going to learn a little more about right now.

Welcome, everyone. Today it gives me great pleasure to introduce Keith Russo, our newest Technical Recruiter in Jensen Beach, Florida. And while Keith isn’t necessarily new to STS Technical Services, he did just return to us after some time away, and we would like to help you all get to know Keith just a little bit better. To that end, we recently asked Keith three questions, and his answers to those questions are provided below.

Thanks in advance for taking the time, and Keith, welcome back, my man. It’s so nice to have you!

Question 1: Tell us a little about your professional background, education and / or experience?

I’m originally from Brooklyn, New York and moved to Los Angeles when I was 23.  After dabbling in showbiz and working around town at clubs like the Troubadour and the Whisky a Go Go, I finally started an aviation career in 2005 with Jetblue Airways.  I was with Jetblue for 12 years, 10 as a supervisor, until I relocated to sunny Florida in 2018.  I began recruiting with STS the moment I landed, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Questions 2: What do you like to do for fun when you are not working?

I love to travel, but being the dad of a 4-year old (and Covid hitting) has put a damper on any recent travel plans.  These days I spend as much time as I can with my son. I enjoy taking him to baseball games (he can already tell you the starting lineup of the Yankees) and to Disney as much as possible.  If I do get some free time for myself, I like to act in and direct community theatre here in the area.  I also enjoy live music and have seen Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam combined around 100 times. I’ve been looking forward to show #101 for quite a while now (same with us, Keith. Same with us.).

Question 3: If you could be any superhero, which superhero would you be and why?

Luke Skywalker. I mean, he blew up the Death Star and defeated Darth Vader. Also, spoiler alert, but did you see the last episode of The Mandalorian? May the force be with you!
